Hi everyone, I took a weeks vacation after releasing 1.0.7.7, last two days and the next few I am working on some internal adjustments which will breake up the program into smaller chunks to allow for faster compiling. There are a number of features I want to add to VOD, some small some big that will require a lot of testing meticulously. SO the faster I can compile and work, the speedier development will be.
Once the features are in and I have tested them the best I can the program will then be put back together for release. Hoping to make this seamless as possible hence the preparation over the next few days.
The main complaints I have received are about the clunky interface and some bugs which I have worked to improve based on suggestions offered and based on feedback a lot of them have been addressed to satisfaction with some more to go. And one or two have suggested the game is unfinished. To them and anyone who makes this claim, I invite them to point out which feature off of the listed features on the Desura site is absent from the game. Secondly as for bugs and other issues, they are impossible to eliminate in a project of this scope being handled by one person, I don't expect pity, I would appreciate patience, if you feel it is incomplete. Because I have always stated that I would continue developing it post-release, by adding new features, fixing bugs and changing current design/gameplay based on feedback. I have been doing this and will continue to do this as evidenced by the constant flow of updates.
A game might be termed 'complete' so it can be officially released. But it does not mean the game's development stops. This is simply the benefit of developing in this generation because updates are easily delivered.
Thanks for playing the game and leave me all the feedback you wish in this here community.
Here are the updates I have planned subject to change at any whimsical fantasy..
-Mission system: replayable missions of varying length, difficulty and locations.
-The Small Stuff: Some more freedom to do as you please...small expansions (which make sense) to the already existing design that you are free to do anything. Since the basis of this is already established. This means...like becoming as pirate, shoot down those civilian ships and get valuables? Become hunted like a pirate. That sort of thing.
-Some possible gameplay changes: This pertains to...should you be able buy all the advanced weapons in the game instead of getting them through exploration? Add more/different alien artifacts which do different things for exploration? (there are some already).
-Add some more weapons and other stuff
Perhaps some linear missions which help introduce you to the game, the game world, what to do, and give you a sense of purpose until you delve into the plot contained within the game. Generally, I guess this might be similar or tie into the mission system, but missions which provide fun content, but are not plot related or plot advancing. So no mission 1, then mission 2, then mission 3.
-Any thing else which comes up, bug fixes, enhancements, suggestions while working on the above.
