Tutorial crashes 1.1b

Hey so recently purchased the game, having a few.. problems. 

Primarily, there are two crashes I have experienced with the tutorial so far. First, when you use the combat jump thing it seems to crash the game. Second, when you attempt to progress beyond the 'scan an asteroid' prompt there is a crash. 

Also, there seems to be a couple of debugging tools available - I have a 'spawn ships' button and a 'teleport to the middle of nowhere' button on the right side of my screen.

Can you get past the tutorial at all?

I can uh hit the 'skip tutorial' button, does that count?

But no, there is a reliable crash if I do nothing but sit at the opening station and progress through tutorial screens, always at the 'scan asteroid' text.

There is also a crash related to viewing the ingame documentation (the uh button thing on the right, dont recall name right now). Certain topics seem to just flat out crash the game.
