Hey guys, I decided not to record audio this time, because it would probably be out of sync, although I have an idea to fix it which I will try before next time.
In this video we see a bit of a melee. The green Ships are a race called the ‘Eurians’ who will be ‘very’ good friends of yours in the game. That large ship you see with a skull is a ‘UGUUL’ Dreadnought. Me and a few Eurian Corvettes are trying to take it down aided by a single Eurian Cruiser.
Couple of things to note, as usual graphics sounds are all place holders. Collision seems awry because the bigger ship i.e. the dreadnought does not yet have shields his size to go with him, so some shots seem to pass through him, and only shots close to his centre of mass collide with his shields.
Friendly fire is on as you will see some of the Eurian ships shots hit me and I can hit them. The AI is not the best I have not worked much on its team logic, so they will fire if one another are in the way!
The enemy does have firing arcs, although I forgot to put in the dreadnoughts aft weaponss, you will see he fires forward, left, right but not to his rear. The corvettes only have front arcs. Their hardpoints are also not set yet.
I just want to add for anyone wondering that I have been working on many different systems since the last video/update. I just decided these last two days to put in the ability of the enemy to fight each other instead of only me, the ability for the Eurians to know I am a friend, and to know the Uguul are enemies, (bitter enemies in the final game), so that I could show something more along the combat, as it could be some time before it ‘looks’ different even though the functionality is progressing under the hood. I explained this to explain things such as the poor dumb AI etc, adding in this functionality is one thing, but now the AI has to be brought up to speed, for starters, not to shoot when a friend is in front! . ( Or maybe I should not get in between them and their target eh?)
Thanks for reading/watching!
